Vana Trust Organic Farm

About the Farm

Vana Trust Organic Farm is a beautiful, small, mixed farm on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border, that is charity funded. We raise chickens, ducks, sheep, goats and pigs and grow organic fruit, vegetables and herbs.

What We Do

We provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues to come and work on the farm, to grow organic fruit and vegetables and to help look after the animals.

Our aim is for those attending to develop new skills, gain confidence, improve physical fitness and reduce feelings of anxiety, tension and isolation. Opportunities are given to be part of a team and to connect with others.

“I like weeding and the people are nice. Old Sidney is a cockerel and he is my favourite animal. I like being here”.

Rob, June 2014

“Vana Trust is a fantastic charity that helps so many people from all walks of life! It is an absolute pleasure to volunteer on the farm and not only have we all learnt a huge amount about farming and horticulture but we have also made a great group of friends!”

Hannah, June 2014

“Working at Vana Trust Organic Farm brought me out of myself, working in a team, making new friends. I met so many great people and had lots of fun and laughter. Working outdoors I learnt a great deal about horticulture and farming. Becoming a mentor improved my confidence a lot and it was great to help others. It certainly helped me to feel motivated and to gain full time employment, it was a fantastic experience”.
